I worked full time as an occupational therapy student with supervision from an OTR/L in acute care. I worked with people ages 30-90+ with varying conditions and diagnoses. Some include CVA, cancer, COPD, CHF, dementia, BKA, AKA, depression, THR, and TSR. I administered various cognitive assessments depending on clients needs or doctor's orders. Treatment sessions focused on simple ADLs and focusing on safety/ independence to aid in discharge planning. My inservice consisted of creating a handout for patients regarding pacemaker precautions. I also researched and discussed the difference between the new leadless pacemaker and the transvenous (old) pacemaker.
