About the Office of Secretary of State: We are an elected office under the leadership of Secretary of State Michael Howe, who took office on January 1, 2023. The Office of Secretary of State oversees a variety of functions, including elections, business registrations, licensing for certain occupations, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) lien filings, and combative sports, as well as serving as the custodian of the Great Seal, and attesting official documents and acts of the Governor.As a technical support provider for various information and technology systems, I troubleshoot and assist staff with in-office technology and equipment. I also help with technical requirements for system enhancements and new projects while acting as a liaison for the agency with North Dakota Information Technology. Additionally, I maintain user security roles, identify and analyze business processes, and perform various technical duties. I oversee records retention and forms management for the agency.

About the Office of Management and Budget: The North Dakota Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is responsible for providing innovative leadership and support to state government. OMB strives to improve state government through centralized services, automated processes, unified policies, and team member and manager development.In my position as a Human Resources Associate, I work alongside the HR team to attract and welcome exceptional candidates, with the goal of developing a highly effective workforce that benefits the individuals of North Dakota. My daily responsibilities include sourcing potential candidates, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, offering positions, and guiding new employees through onboarding. Additionally, I conduct research on compensation standards, maintain documentation, identify areas for improvement, and keep our team informed of any relevant legal updates.

In my role as an HR Intern, I am involved in several HR initiatives, including HR 2.0, Change Management, Employee Engagement, IDEAA, Rising Leaders, and Universal Policies. One of my key contributions was developing and creating learning content for the Team ND Rising Leaders Series. I collaborated with the Learning and Development Director and an HR Officer to ensure the content was of high quality and met the needs of the target audience. I was also part of the HR 2.0 Talent Acquisition team, where I helped with recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new employees. My responsibilities included screening applications, posting job opportunities on relevant platforms such as PeopleSoft, LinkedIn, and Handshake, and sourcing candidates through these platforms. In addition, I conducted research and compiled data on various HR topics, including benefit surveys, salary surveys, compensation trends, classification trends, and turnover trends. I also played an active role in collecting data from new hire surveys and exit surveys.
