In this role, I engage regularly with customers to build relationships and provide continued satisfaction. I also interface with the field team to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables. Following job completion, I monitor product performance and assist customers with optimization and remote well intervention. I manage the process from A to Z, from design and quoting of equipment to invoicing and monitoring. This involved analyzing wireline logs and mudlogs to… Show more While working at Crescent Point I had the opportunity to not only learn extensively in a branch of geology that I love, but I was also able to experience the importance of working on a result oriented team that achieves goals by working with their peers to learn and grow together. With the trust and support of the geology team, I was able to gather information and work towards evaluating potential plays that had been relatively unexplored. This involved analyzing wireline logs and mudlogs to obtain a better understanding of source rocks and reservoir rocks within a petroleum system, extensive data mining, and the creation and analysis of detailed maps describing various formation properties.Throughout my time at Crescent Point I was able to share ideas and learn from not only the rest of my geology team but also employees in other departments such as petroleum engineering, land acquisition, and regulatory. Though I learned more about exploration geology than I ever could have imagined and I developed a passion for the field, the most important thing I learned is that the best way to complete projects successfully is through teamwork. I enjoyed interacting with others, and in a workplace of over 700 employees, people often recognized me and knew me by name wherever I went. I spent about 75% of my time out in the field collecting regular water samples, managing stormwater discharges, ensuring safety and compliance in waste disposal, monitoring environmental compliance, and performing various… Show more In my time at Dakota Gasification Company I was able to build not only my environmental field skills, but also my workplace confidence. I enjoyed interacting with others, and in a workplace of over 700 employees, people often recognized me and knew me by name wherever I went. I spent about 75% of my time out in the field collecting regular water samples, managing stormwater discharges, ensuring safety and compliance in waste disposal, monitoring environmental compliance, and performing various other tasks related to continued environmental integrity. One of my greatest achievements at DGC was the completion of the fall groundwater monitoring event, in which I sampled over 130 groundwater monitoring wells and prioritized both efficiency and quality throughout the process. When I wasn't performing tasks in the field, I was in the office writing internal, state, or federal reports demonstrating compliance with various regulations. I also spent a significant portion of my time communicating with my coworkers about what was going on in the field. In my 7 months at the facility I developed a true respect for the importance of environmental safety and communicating this importance to both employees and community members. Show less
