About Carlene Stevens

With an atypical agriculture background, I quickly found a love and passion for the industry. My love for the industry began in high school as an FFA member. After choosing to pursue my education at Tarleton State University, my passion quickly grew. I am currently pursing my Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Services and Development from Tarleton State University, and hope to be graduating in December of 2021. I then hope to pursue my graduate's degree and further my education in agriculture. I strive to be nothing less than kind and charitable to everyone I come across. I want to selflessly impact. I aim to remain ethical in all that I do, and be a positive light in every environment I am placed in.

    Given the opportunity to do a series of tasks during my time at Big Fluffy. I worked within the kennel directly caring for the dogs. I worked with behavioral issues and training. I worked directly under vet tech supervision providing medical care. Worked within the administrative side preparing complex transport paperwork, and record keeping. I learned how to manage the volunteer aspect of the rescue. I also worked and learned the social media aspect of Big Fluffy, and how it is integral to the success of a non profit rescue. Throughout my time at Big Fluffy Dog Rescue, I learned all facets of the management of a non profit animal organization.

    At Roberson Equestrian Facility, I was tasked to ensure all forty plus horses were properly maintained. Daily, I fed and watered the horses. I would hand walk each of them into their pastures. I would clean their stalls, provide daily medications, and prepare feed. I did therapy on the horses that required it. I was offered the opportunity to work independently and grow daily in my work enviroment.
