Cars are my passion and this has been like this since I can remember. I’ve also always known that I wanted to be an engineer. Having been raised up in a teachers’ family, I became the black sheep of the flock.Jokes apart, I started 6 years ago working for the automotive sector and it was one of the best choices I could ever make. I am currently working as a quality engineer for Toyota Accessory parts division on behalf of Btech. Most of my experience is based on my 6 years at Ford. There, I was lucky enough to start as a packaging engineer and, together with the other members of the team, we managed to save directly more than 400k€ directly to the company in expendable packaging and improving logistic space. I became also responsible of doing storage improvements at the production line and layout optimization for internal logistic flow.Later, I joined quality in the new model launch team. I wanted to be more involved on vehicle development and this was a great opportunity. I successfully worked on the launch of several versions of Transit Connect, Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy models, leading lots of 8D quality issues resolution and a couple of Six Sigma projects (savings for the company were estimated in 230k€).On my current position, I am responsible for driving the resolution of quality issues raised during accessory installations and customer complaints. I also help our logistic partners with internal audits to prepare them for certification in front of the Approval Authorities and I also work on developing new quality standard processes for our Accessory division.I have always been passionate about car details and that is what makes me comfortable being in a quality position. Moreover, I would describe myself as a data-driven person, as I believe that, rather than feelings, facts are the key to resolution. Also, I really enjoy taking a hands-on approach to things. What’s next for me? I would really like to improve my project management skills.
