I am currently a newly graduated Registered Dental Hygienist from Niagara College with not only a passion for setting goals to help others reach their level of optimal overall health and wellness, but specifically oral health. I will be writing my National Board Exam in September of 2016. I feel very fortunate to be working in my field and getting one step closer to reaching my goal career day after day. Throughout my journey at Niagara College I have gained many Dental Hygiene skills while working in our on campus State of the Art Dental Clinic such as: scaling and root planning using hand instruments and ultrasonic, taking and processing digital radiographs, coronal/air polishing, application of fluoride varnish, fabricating whitening trays and mouth guards, pit and fissure sealants nutrition and diet counselling, tobacco cessation, oral health education, digital charting using Dentrix. From working in Long Term Care facilities, participating in an Aging and Dementia Stimulation, as well as working in Elementary schools throughout the Niagara Region to provide Oral Health Education to children I have gained first-hand experience working with multiple population groups. I understand how to tailor the care I provide in order to meet the needs of the specific population. From my many years in working in customer service I understand what it means to ensure customer satisfaction.
