Carl graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in electrical engineering. Immediately after graduating, he enrolled in an MBA program at the University of Houston. While in grad school, he started his career by accepting an international sales position at a local Caterpillar dealership. Carl graduated from the University of Houston in 2005 and continued to advance his sales career at Caterpillar. After nine years of working in sales and achieving his goals, he decided he was ready for a new challenge. In 2012 Carl left Caterpillar and founded Houston Heavy Machinery with very limited capital, three employees, and a vision. Over the next twelve years, Houston Heavy Machinery grew into a full-service branded dealership and expanded the business to include a construction company named Texas Dewatering and a specialty excavator attachment company named EIK Solutions, employing over one hundred employees combined. Carl's management style prioritizes an unrivaled customer experience supported by a strong company culture and familial work atmosphere, which has positioned his businesses as highly competitive and well-respected in the industry. Houston Heavy Machinery proudly represents two premium Japanese brands in the Southeast Texas territory: Kobelco and Takeuchi. Texas Dewatering has developed a strong partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers as well as other public entities and is currently the general contractor on a $45MM waterway restoration project. EIK Solutions is the exclusive distributor of EIK amphibious pontoons and long-reach excavator attachments for North America and has developed itself into a strong competitor against the long-standing established brands. Carl's ongoing vision is to continue to grow market share, improve efficiencies, and distinguish his companies as the leaders in the industry.
