Managing the Fencing division's financial performance, as well as managing all aspects of Health and Safety and recruitment. - Managing staff members, comprising contract managers, estimators, admin staff, general labourers and sub-contractors. - Liaising with the Construction Director, Health and Safety, commercial and procurement departments. - Maintain excellent customer relations with existing clients and creating and growing relationships with new clients. - Pro-actively identifying, creating and implementing business strategies in line with all commercial, operational and technical goals. - Maintaining full P+L responsibility for the department: analysing project profitability, forecasting, managing contract reviews and contingency planning.- Conducting complex estimations as required. - Co-ordinating, recruiting, and developing staff members. - Attending pre-contract meetings in order to agree / negotiate terms. - Analysing all projects to ensure all work has been executed on time, in budget and in line with requirements. - Working with the procurement team to ensuring all work is being executed on time and in line with budget requirements. - Ensuring all records are documented meticulously with regards to expenditure, accounting, costing and billing.- Promoting a positive Health and Safety work culture and ensuring all staff are updated continually with updates to legalisation.- Pro-actively filling all Sub-Contractor training gaps in order to enhance professional development. - Fleet management: overseeing company vehicles and using tracker systems to monitor routes and performance.

Undertaking a variety of project management duties, as well as overseeing the coordination of 10-20 staff members and Sub-Contractors.- Passing variations and managing the successful delivery contracts.- Pricing fencing packages and ensuring all specifications were correct. - Issuing applications and invoices.- Ensuring all Sub-Contractors are adhering to all Health and Safety regulations. - Managing the effective execution and delivery of strategies in order to meet all short, mid and long term commercial targets.- Ensuring adherence to company guidelines when handling the staff disciplinary process.- Pro-actively identifying, creating and implementing business strategies in line with all commercial, operational and technical goals. - Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the company and its services/products, effectively communicating this to clients.

Fence Raisers was a Small Medium Enterprise (S.M.E.) in South Africa that I started in 1993. At the time of selling the business in 2008 I was responsible for all aspects of the business including P&L, Staffing, Sales, B.D.& H&S.
