I am responsible for the assistive technology training team and workplace assessor team elements of Microlink, the UK's largest supplier of Assistive Technologies. My team of AT trainers cover the whole of the UK and train customers in the use of Assistive Technologies from Text to Speech systems, Voice Recognition systems such as Dragon Naturally Speaking and screen reading software such as JAWS and Apple Voiceover plus many others! Our clients range from students in receipt of the Disabled Students Allowance to Blue Chip Organisations such as Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, British Telecom, Barclays Bank, Department of Work and Pensions and a growing list of others.Over the last 20 years I have developed our training processes and induction course which gives all of our trainers the knowledge and tools to deliver first class training to our clients. I manage the team on a day to day basis, organising updates, employing new staff and developing new courses and services to offer.A trainer myself I have carried out training on a one to one basis with many customers as well as delivering presentations to large groups including the House of Lords, Royal Courts of Justice, The Home Office and the President's Group of the Business Disability Forum.I am a software specialist for visual impaired focused applications such as JAWS and Zoomtext as well as a long term advocate of Apple products and the platform's fantastic built in accessibility tools such as Voiceover. I'm very passionate about what we do and grasp any opportunity to let people know about the incredible things that these technologies enable people to achieve.
