Ik heb veel kwaliteiten en deze zet ik graag in voor verschillende projecten/events/initiatieven/organisaties. Ik hou van regelen en organiseren, van samenwerken, anderen helpen, van puzzelen, van de natuur en buiten zijn, van reizen en talen, van persoonlijke ontwikkeling en verbinding, en van onze wereld mooier en leefbaarder maken. Ook kijk ik graag met behulp van o.a. systemisch werk naar wat zich onder de oppervlakte afspeelt. Ik denk dat ik wat waardevols toe te voegen heb aan een team/opdracht/project met mijn intelligentie, sociale skills, heldere communicatie, mijn sensitiviteit, logisch denken, aanpakken en gezond perfectionisme. I support others with the organization or hosting of events, workshops, trainings or group travels that aim to improve our lives, living conditions or environment. With a scientific background as a biologist and epidemiologist and after many years of self reflection I feel something needs to change in the way we live our lives and treat our planet. My interest and focus are therefore mainly in the fields of sustainability, nature, healthy living, body-mind connection and personal development. I use my strong rational mind and analytical skills as well as my sensitivity to connect and communicate with my clients and deliver according to their needs and desires. I support the quality and product management departments, mainly with project coördination and communication / text editing.

During spring and summer of 2020 I have worked as project manager communication for the team that coördinates the national test capacity for COVID-19. My focus was on the content of internal and external communication as well as following changes in national policy.

The last year, of which I spent 6 months in Bali, Indonesia, I have used most of my time for personal development. I have learned about myself and what is important to me, and I have acquired a better view of how I want to live my life.

The BoCDE (Burden of Communicable Diseases in Europe) study has been issued by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)) to estimate the burden of infectious diseases in Europe.My main tasks were the preparation of the field study protocol, data collection and data analysis and the organization of contacts between the countries participating in the field study.

Postdoctoral research in epidemiology of infectious diseases.Development, analysis and reporting of both mathematical and statistical models for a better understanding of the spread and prevention of infectious diseases; advisor for ongoing epidemiological research in the hospital; supervision of a course in evidence based medicine for medical students.

As a PhD student I performed a clinical and theoretical epidemiological study resulting in the thesis: “Prevention of Influenza in Health Care Settings: Models and Observations”. The study was performed in cooperation with the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) under supervison of Prof. Dr. M.J.M. Bonten, Dr E. Hak and Dr. J. Wallinga.My thesis shows that vaccination of health care personnel against influenza can prevent many infections in patients and is more efficient than providing antiviral medication. Furthermore, it suggests that performed observational and experimental studies on health care worker vaccination cannot give reliable effect estimates due to the large influence of chance processes in the transmission of the influenza virus in a small environment such as a nursing home department. My main tasks were the design, coordination and execution of epidemiological data collection in the hospital; steering of nurses and students; supervision of an intern; project management; data management; statistical analyses; development, programming and analysis of mathematical models; sensitivity analyses; written reporting; oral and poster presentations on (international) conferences.

During these months in the Theoretical Biology group under supervision of Prof. Dr. R.J. de Boer I got the opportunity to finish my model on CD4+ T cell and TREC dynamics in healthy and HIV infected individuals that I had started as an intern.

With a grant from the Dutch VSB foundation I worked in Dr. J. Carneiro's Theoretical Immunology group where I developed a spatial model to simulate and study the interactions between different cells of the immune system.
