Profile bio

About Carl Klitscher

My background covers Sales, Technical Support, IT Architecture, Leadership and Management with specific expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Integration and Business Transformation. I believe in a collaborative approach to leadership and apply this approach through role-modeling which has helped me drive innovation and change within risk averse organisations.Strong negotiation skills are a necessity but must also result in a win-win to ensure repeat business and support. I will always try to get to a 'Yes' position but not at the expense of my colleagues or myself. A strong analytical approach to problem solving has served me well over the years and my experience has been that whatever issues may arise there will always be a mutually beneficial way to resolve them. It is not enough to note that there is a problem somewhere, we must also take ownership and action. Alongside the analytical approach I also apply, and welcome, lateral thinking. Considering a problem from an alternative viewpoint can lead to some significant insights and very productive solutions.I am passionate about the IT Profession and personal leadership and I am on the Wellington Branch Committee of The Institute of IT Professionals (ITP). I am an advocate of the Open Source philosophy and believe Open Source technologies have a significant role to play in the future of IT alongside and supporting traditional proprietary solutions.I think that combining traditional business disciplines with the productivity improvements offered by some Cloud offerings as well as the DevOps framework and the Open Compute Project infrastructure design has the ability to transform the way IT operates in the future. These frameworks and technologies have the potential to bring a new level of maturity, trust and competence to the IT industry.

Listed skills include Solution Architecture, It Strategy, It Service Management, Itil, and 6 others.
