Carl Ivan Valdez Linang, or CIVL, is an advocate turned into a development worker. His advocacy for youth development was early ignited through his engagements in different youth and youth-serving organizations. He is a member of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in which he was awarded with the Eagle Scout Rank -- the highest rank for Senior Scouting. In relation to this, he is also a member of the National Eagle Scouts Association of the Philippines, the premiere honor society of Eagle Scouts in the Philippines. He is also serving as a Professional and Volunteer Scouter at BSP Lipa City Council. Carl is also a member of the Ayala Young Leaders Alumni Association, Inc. and co-led and volunteered various initiatives such as Flatten the Curve PH, Ayuda Bicolandia, and Bilang Kabataan. He is an alumnus of the Ayala Young Leaders Congress Batch 2020.On his professional experience, he first worked at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Lipa City Council as Administrative Staff from 2018-2019. In the same year, he also taught at The Mabini Academy as part-time CAT instructor. Currently, Carl is working as the Assistant Program Officer (YouthLed) at The Asia Foundation since 2023. He is a former Regional Clusters Coordinator at the same program and company from 2022-2023. Aside from work, he is a Graduate Student at the University of the Philippines Los Baños taking up Master of Science in Development Communication.Carl dreams to have a country that has a proactive youth sector that has strengthened participation to democratic governance.
