The brainchild of one of Australia's most well known aboriginal leaders, GGSA is a not-for-profit organisation focused on delivering better education outcomes to primary school students in remote Australia predominantly through the use of Direct Instruction and Explicit Direct Instruction. This was a short term gig aimed at developing and rolling out a tool to track lesson delivery and subject mastery across reading, spelling, maths and language. The goal of this tool was to achieve quantifiable measurement of teaching progress and student understanding. My role in this project touched on every aspect of product development and delivery.

Townsville City Council, like many local councils is highly asset intensive and under constant pressure to deliver value for money service to the community it serves. This is a newly created role which aims to provide high quality analytical services to its customers in a bid to improve operational effectiveness and achieve the asset utilisation outcomes.

The introduction of the NDIS has caused the Endeavour Foundation to completely re-think its business and operating model and establish systems and processes where there were none in the past. My part in this has been to shine a light on how we work, running improvement projects in their manufacturing facilities and designing reliable, sustainable processes to enhance the customer experience. This is not a traditional lean specialist role largely because we are not working in a conventional manufacturing or service industry. The unique nature of disability services requires a slightly different approach from many of the other industries I have been involved with a focus on triple bottom line outcomes.

A short term assignment to assist the NAB Valuations Team with the development of strategies to reduce costs associated with carrying out property valuations. The major focus of this work has been on quantifying property valuation costs amongst different customer segments and developing ways to reduce this without negatively impacting other parts of the business or increasing risk exposure.

A diverse role focusing on process analysis and re-design as a part of Bupa’s transformation programme. The primary goal was to deliver a superior customer experience. This was achieved by delivering business process improvements supported by technological upgrade. Achievements include: • Ran scrum activities in the delivery of an enhanced CRM capability. • Led activities to map current state and design future state processes to support CRM feature development. • Undertook an End-to-End Lean diagnosis of claims streams with recommendations for waste elimination. • Carried out process analysis, Root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis (FMEA) of policy mismatch defects. Subsequent changes resulted in $10M business liability reduction. • Co-led implementation of Virtual Hold telephony to Bupa Sales team. This achieved a reduction in customer on-hold time (ATA), improved call centre utilisation and increased net promotor score (NPS). • Conducted operational review of Bupa Wellness business processes: o Ishikawa analysis to highlight issues and develop roadmap to exploit value creation opportunities o Partnering with Bupa Wellness to outsource Corporate Health Checks service.

Pacific National Coal is a relative newcomer to the Queensland coal transport industry and has undergone incredible growth over the past two years.

Ord Sugar was a green-field operation located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia typified by extensive multi-skilling and novel processing technologies. This role worked closely with both internal and external customers to achieve operational, safety and environmental goals. This rewarding role required sound technical and mechanical understanding as well as strong organisational skills and well developed leadership ability.

Primarily a Research and Development role which focused on optimising factory operations and new product development.
