Responsible for Project Management and day to day management of new South Gloucestershire Local Plan. - Scoping and implementing approach to plan from Options stage (Reg 18) through to EiP and adoption.- Formulating and implementing strategy, evidence base and policy approach including; Housing and Economic Availability Assessment (HELAA), urban and rural growth strategies, retail policies, flood risk- Leading and managing cross council input and joint working on Local Plan related evidence and policy- Briefing senior officers and council executive on planning policy and Local Plan issues.- Managing multiple policy and technical work streams.

- Assisting and overseeing individual policy areas for Policies Sites and Places Plan (PSP) from Reg 18 through to adoption in November 2017. To support implementation of policies in the PSP Plan and approach to rural growth within the new South Gloucestershire Local Plan.- Providing Planning Policy comments for planning applications determined under NPPF paragraph 49 and 14, particularly in relation to sustainability issues across the rural areas of South Gloucestershire.- Producing South Gloucestershire element of Green Belt evidence for West of England, Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) - Green Belt Assessment Stage 2.

Extensive knowledge of Local Plan production, from initial evidence gathering, formal consultation stages, appearances at independent examination, including Bristol Core Strategy, Site Allocations and Development Policies document (sound).Lead policy author for planning policy relating to green infrastructure within adopted Core Strategy, sound Site Allocations and Development Management Policies document and emerging Bristol Central Area Plan. Adopted and sound policies held up in best practice guidance documents and utilised by adjoining and other local authorities within England.Lead council implementation and progression of SEA directive, Habitats Directive, from screening, scoping through to a documents adoption, including:• Core Strategy - SA/SEA to Adoption Statement, and Full HRA process.• Site Allocations and Development Management Policies Document - SEA/SA to Adoption Statement Screening Statement HRA.• Bristol Central Area Plan. SEA/SA currently to Full Report and Screening Statement HRA• Bristol Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
