Taught a graduate course on World Politics to a cohort of 39 students from all over the world. The course addressed the return of Great Power competition, de-globalization and onshoring, de-dollarization, the debates over the crisis of the international liberal order, the international security implications of migration and climate change, the global emergence of a business and human right regime as well as the international political implications of the extraterritorial reach of regional regulations in this field, and finally the role of AI in world politics.

Coordinating the Doctoral Program in Human and Social Sciences

This is a think-tank at the National University of Colombia. Its mission is to deradicalize Latin American societies, to depolarize their public spheres, to restore a horizon of civility in the politics of the region, particularly where it has been affected by long internal armed conflicts or political strife, and to resist the pendular oscillation of Latin American societies between the extremes of the political spectrum.

Chaired committees on strategy, planning, research, publications and budgeting. Supervised 7 support staff and oversaw 13 research groups with approximately 50 researchers. Supervised the social media outreach and website update and redesign. Coordinated the book launches at the Bogota Annual Book Fair. Supervised a radio program. Organized conferences, seminars, and workshops.Monitored progress on projects and supported researchers along their project cycles in relation to a broad set of issues, from budget planning, grant proposal submission, negotiation with sponsors, and conflict resolution over project execution to project closure.

The Report outlined the strategic opportunities facing IMER in the market for commissioned research and consulting on the social aspects of mining and energy operations.

• Ranked Nr. 4 in the national competition launched in 2005 by the National University to recruit university professors across all disciplines and Nr. 1 in the Social and Human Sciences (approximately 1,500 applicants, 189 professors with PhDs mostly from Europe and the US won the competition, 39 of whom were not Colombians).• Researched on the building of mutual understanding in conflict situations.• Teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level: Economic Sociology, Contemporary Sociology I (The Strong Program in Cultural Sociology), Cultural Sociology, Cultural Sociology II (Trauma and Memory), Cultural Processes III (The Civil Society), Research Paper Workshop, Doctoral Research Seminar I, Doctoral Research Seminar II.• Supervised one master thesis and three honor theses.• On leave of absence between November 2008 and December 2009.

• The Center of Social Studies is one of the largest social science research institutions in Colombia, featuring 54 researchers and 7 administrative staff members.• Managed to define, build consensus over, and negotiate a protocol of formal rules to regulate the functioning of the research centre. In the 25-year history of the Centre no prior Director ever achieved it due to the highly conflictive organizational environment.• Mediated conflicts among the members of the institution.• Managed curricular, research, publishing and communicative initiatives.• Resigned to relocate to Australia with my family.
