Title of scholarship: "Resarch project for the realization of a 20 kW rated prototype for the production of electricity from wind energy suitable for low wind sites"• Research proposal on 20kw prototype wind turbine to generate electricity from wind energy for low wind sites approved by Faculty of Engineering to continue work from MSc thesis• Creating technical simulation script using Mat lab Xfoil software created by MIT, which provided data on lift and drag of air foil based on canter; used Solidworks for CAD 3D work and computational fluid dynamic software, all of which aided in studying structural designs of wind turbines and evaluating wind turbine acoustic emissions, to refine and optimise wind turbine geometry• Utilising excellent communication skills and research-based knowledge to deliver classes on wind turbine physics in front of 25 students• Found alternative to MIT simulation software called QBlade, developed by the Technical University of Berlin, which automated processes and cut down analysis time by 90%• Utilised excellent research skills to find non-patented materials to create turbines, saving 5000 euros per turbine in patent fees
