☛ I paused for one year my Industrial PhD with the support from all the project partners, in order to get the opportunity to design an IC using GaN technology at ESA.The access to this state-of-the-art technology was very restricted at that moment. ❖ The main achievements at ESA include: Design and succesfull measurement campaign of a 50W C-band MMIC High Power Amplifier with worldwide state of the art performance for this type of circuit. The IC is intended for the next generation of Sentinel satellites, and it uses United Monolithic Semiconductor’s GaN GH25 process (PAE > 50%). Running paralell to ESA Contract No. 5531/07/NL/GLC/ "GaN Highly Efficient HPA for X- and Ku-band SAR and Altimeter Applications" Test campaign of both European and Non-European GaN transistors on-wafer and mounted on CuMo carriers. High power load pull measurements for transistor model validation and selection of optimum biasing and loading conditions. Installation and test of a new load-pull test bed and new high power waveform measurement tool in ESTEC Payload Division clean room.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬RECOMMENDATIONS FROM ESA:
