Promoted changes to databases following the Company’s Release Management Process. Fixed database defects and outages and find their root causes. Worked with developers to troubleshoot performance issues in the applications and the data models. Fixed replication issues with Golden Gate, Streams and DataGuard. Implemented database patches and upgrades. Worked with Oracle and other vendors in the investigation and resolution of technical challenges with the databases.

Installed Oracle Database Software in Unix Solaris. Designed and created Databases. Implemented backup and disaster recovery stradegies. Fine tuned schemas and the physical attributes of the data models. Executed large data loads and cleansing of bulk data. Installed and configured monitoring software (OEM). Execute migration, cleansing, and transformation of large data bulks and schemas.Accomplishments:Worked with a group of System Administrators, Storage Engineers, and DBAs in the design and implementation of a Server Architecture customized for Oracle databases with emphasis on flexibility and scalability (The design included technologies like RAC, Dataguard, Solaris Servers, EMC Storage, and Multi-site Disaster Recovery availability). This advanced architecture was adopted as the standard going forward in the “Financial and Risk” segment of the company and allowed an easy migration path from the legacy servers, eliminating more than 100 outdated legacy environments. Implemented PAL (Portfolio Analytics Lists) Database Family which generated growth on sales and better customer satisfaction since its insertion into the market.

Managed a team of IT professionals (Database Administrators and Oracle Developers). Worked in liaison with executives, department heads, and customers to translate business needs into IT solutions. Work with external consultants, vendors and other industry entities to form partnerships that produce efficient IT solutions for the organization and its customers. Administered all aspects of Oracle databases and the Oracle EBusiness Suite. Administered the Unix Servers and its respective hardware. Managed the infrastructure of Production, Development, and QA environments. Implemented Guidelines for Backup and Recovery using various storage options and multiple sites. Managed database compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley and other FAA regulations and requirements.Accomplishments:Implemented and customized the Oracle Ebusiness Suite and CRM Modules. Used the Oracle APIs to insert and extract data from this Suite to and from other key applications and databases. This effort reduced labor cost in many departments in the organization. Enhanced the marketing and sales strategies with its analytical tools, and improved customer satisfaction. Implemented a solid and robust Sun Solaris Infrastructure of servers and databases, providing resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery options to support the business of aircraft operations. This architecture was imperative in order to support the rapid growth that the company experienced at the time of my tenure.Teamed up with analytical experts in the aircraft and aeronautics field to design a model for analytical fly data and assisted in the development of a homegrown tool to optimize scheduling and maintenance of the aircraft, saving millions of dollars in gasoline, landing fees, and maintenance cost of an aircraft.
