I work within the General Surgery department and perform comprehensive and problem- focused history and physical exams in order to formulate a treatment plan for patients with potential general surgical conditions

I performed comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams, order and interpret radiographs and advanced imaging in order to formulate a treatment plan for patients with orthopedic and sports injuries in an urgent care setting. Services I provided include closed fracture reductions, joint injections/aspirations, laceration repair, and casting.

I performed comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams in order to formulate a treatment plan for patients with traumatic orthopedic injuries in clinical, inpatient, and emergency department settings. I provided perioperative care in support of an orthopedic surgeon, including closed fracture reductions, joint injections/aspirations, and assisting in surgery and post operative management.

I assisted the lab director in teaching first year physician assistant students in the anatomy lab. Instruction was intended to orient students to the physical anatomy, expanding on their Gross Anatomy lectures.

I served as the Senior Special Operations Combat Medic Supervisor for various units including Special Forces Assessment and Selection in Fort Bragg, NC, the Department of Combat Medic Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX, the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Hunter Army Airfield, GA, and 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment Fort Benning, GA. My main focus was managing the medical sections, diagnosing and treating various injuries and illness trainees acquired during training. I established and revised medical protocols and pre-accident medical planning and standard operating procedures for various training and combat deployments. I instructed at the Advanced Training Branch, providing instruction to Healthcare Specialists in advanced medical techniques as well as authoring of the 19 day Military Medicine portion of the Healthcare Specialist’s training. I served as a flight paramedic supporting Special Operations Forces and providing Advanced Tactical Combat Casualty Care on non-standard casualty evacuation platform aboard military helicopters during three combat deployments. As a Ranger, I researched and briefed medical health threats for local and combat deployments, provided medical coverage for internal training. I conduced daily sick-call by providing patient assessment, physical exam and development of a diagnosis and treatment plan, pre/post-deployment medical screening, administering and updating battalion immunizations, and providing Advanced Tactical Combat Casualty Care during three combat deployments.
