Responsibilities: • Provides comprehensive housing options and advice to fulfil statutory obligations related to homelessness under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.• Assesses, investigates, assists, and makes decisions in accordance with the Housing Act, taking into account the provisions of the Data Protection Act, Equality Act, Human Rights Act, and extended considerations under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (SVGA) and Protection of Freedoms Bill, Modern Slavery Act, Family Law Act, Domestic Abuse Act, Mental Health and mental capacity Acts, Care Act, Children and Social Care Act, health and safety legislation and regulations, Education Act, Deregulation Act 2015 and other relevant legislation.• Collaborates closely with Home Office regulations to ensure compliance and proactively supports the Ministry of Justice in accommodating ex-offenders within the agreed accommodation tiers.• Proactively liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including language providers, DWP, the police, probation services, emergency services, health professionals, MASH, housing providers and letting agents, educational authorities, and both public and private entities, extending to reporting systems for chancellors and MP inquiries.• Negotiates both statutory and non-statutory resolutions, with a focus on welfare and safeguarding considerations.• Works strategically across all housing areas as required, and in the absence of a Housing Options Manager, assumes day-to-day responsibilities for homelessness and housing advice services, along with other duties as required by the Head of Housing Services.
