This project will provide the application with increased expandability, maintainability, and a decoupled codebase required to support multiple user interfaces, optimized for mobile apps and desktop environments.• Adoption of Modern Frameworks: Introduced to the team the usage of Backbone.js in conjunction with Marionette.js to provide more structure and expandability to complex Front-End applications, using Underscore as the templating system for views. Also instituted the use of Mocha for unit testing JavaScript applications, making it the standard testing framework for all large scale fantasy products on the site.• Web Architecture and Consulting: Architected a front-end module for rendering a bracket-like HTML structure to power March Madness Bracket games, Playoff Race, Fantasy Playoff Brackets, and any other future brackets structure on the site. The interface elements are rendered dynamically on the server side depending on user’s installed/purchased applications, accompanied by client-side JavaScript libraries leveraging from JQuery plug-in patterns, which control front-end event handling, dynamic element resizing, and data retrieval and caching.• March Madness Bracket Games 2011: Overhauled user interface for Bracket Fantasy games using JQuery in conjunction with PERL server side modules for rendering the user brackets, making this product one of the company’s most profitable units, reaching a record number of 6.5 million users.
