Carlos Polo is a Spanish and European IP Attorney. He has a Master in Industrial Engineering and a Master in Business Administration. He began working in the field of Industrial and Intellectual Property in the office of his father and mentor, Modesto Polo. Carlos was responsible for the international expansion of the firm Modesto Polo until he founded his own firm, Carlos Polo & Asociados, twenty years ago. He is the Senior Partner of the firm and the leader of the Madrid office of Carlos Polo & Asociados.Carlos Polo is an active member of many professional associations. He holds or has held important positions in the Counsel/Board of the Spanish IP Attorneys Association, AGESORPI, European Council Institute (Munich), APRAM (Paris), etc.Over the years he has received several honors and awards such as the 2003 Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Trademark Law (INTA). He has participated in tasks forces such as the one created by the Commission, UNICE, OHIM, industry and some professional associations to study the impact of the E.U. enlargement on the CTM system and he has participated in numerous meetings of the European Patent Institute Council and the OHIM Users Meetings representing various professional associations such as INTA and APRAM.Carlos has been invited as a speaker at numerous professional events. The first one was the ITMA Meeting in London in 1989. He participated in numerous international events, such as an ITMA Forum in San Francisco where he was co-chair on the CTM.
