Agile Strategy Office Manager Ibm Consulting (Bbva)Bbva España Mar 2020 - Nov 2021Madrid, Community Of Madrid, SpainIn the operational and technical (O&T), within IT area of BBVA, it was decided to create a Strategy and Agile Office to improve strategic alignment and change traditional methods to a more agile way of working, improve efficiency, increase visibility and communication, among different levels of management.As head of the Agile Strategy Office, I had two main objectives:- Define all the processes and tools to monitor all the products and services under its responsibility, defining correct and simple KPIs that allow to have the right information to react quickly to market changes.- Monitor the pipeline of products and services to ensure that strategy is followed, adopting an agile mindset and using agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban or Lean to increase efficiency, reduce bureaucracy and add value to the decision-making process.- Work with a Mexican team in a "follow-the-sun" methodology to reap the benefits of this methodology, with productivity of around 20 hours per day.- Be responsible for the adoption of the framework used by the different teams, according to their type of work. Transformational Agile Coach Sngular At Bbva TransformationBbva España Sep 2018 - Mar 2020Madrid Area, SpainWorking as an Enterprise Agile Coach within a banking sector, I worked within one of the largest areas of the bank with over 1000 people, within a team of 8 Agile Coaches supporting this area.As an individual, I support one of the largest teams within this area with around 85 people.I also support one of the key areas within this area, which is responsible for innovation and digital business with around 80 people, working in an international environment (San Francisco, Dallas, Singapore, Boston), with another interesting challenge within this specific area, which is to work with different ventures, small startups, responsible for specific projects.My role is divided into three main areas:- Teaching the different methods within Agile, such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, Design Thinking, Lean and process improvement methods, proposing the best framework depending on the activity that the area is carrying out. Within this part of my role, I also work with some of my partners to develop massive trainings (more than 300 people) focused on different roles (POs, Prg Managers, etc...).- Helping the different teams to adopt the proposed framework, being with them, coaching them, showing the value of the method and measuring the maturity with the aim of continuous improvement.- Changing mindsets, probably the most difficult part of my role as this is a big challenge, there is resistance, frustration, loyalty to a traditional method and a long etc... but also motivation based on the improvements that happen along the way.
