My name is Carlos Calderon. I was born in Mexico city where I lived until moving to the US 25 years ago. Here I have been working in the entertainment business as an on air personality for Univision Network in many TV and radio productions. I am a also a graduate Architect and even got to build a couple of structures back in Mexico with my own firm and did my major in Architectural Photography. When I went to show my work as a photographer to a talent agency while finishing my degree, the agent was impressed by my pictures but instead offered to represent me as my talent agent. Dozens of commercials later, I won an audition to host The Dating Game in Spanish in Hollywood, California and left Mexico to study acting in Los Angeles. That took me to Miami where I have been part of all kinds of shows on TV, radio and digital platforms.I co-hosted Despierta America, Univision’s morning daily four hour show that airs from coast to coast for 5 years, empowering, informing and entertaining the Hispanic community while celebrating our language and heritage with everyone. I received an EMMY for Best Morning Show for my work on 2018-19 and 2022-23 and before that I received the EMMY for Outstanding Talent 2014-2015 while working for El Gordo y la Flaca also in Univision. I hosted my own radio show nationally “El Colmillo” and had the first live cable show in Spanish, Acceso Maximo and well as the first Univision show that aired on facebook among many other milestone productions with amazing teams.I have also continued learning and have studies in post production and editing at NYU, in creativity strategies and techniques at Harvard University, in creative writing from Stanford and journalism from UC Berkeley. Having lived and traveled extensively all over the country for 25 years, I have a deep connection with both English and Hispanic cultures, enjoy being part of creative teams and have a passion for transmiting ideas clearly and with a positive light, credibility and purpose.Since 2017, I have been supporting the Hispanic community in the US by informing them on safe ways for them to start building homes in Mexico paying from the U.S. supporting their communities and generating jobs while building a patrimony for the next generation. It has been a challenging project and it has brought to light many needs that I personally am proud to shine a light upon and also a sense of pride to have helped so many families to this day.It is time to make the world a better place.
