Carlos Castro (b. 1994) is a Colombian audiovisual editor and producer currently based in Buenos Aires, who works with analog film photography, and experimental video editions. His explorative practice oscillates between a documentary journal aesthetic with sample music allowing him to create a unique edition, assembling and reassembling collected raw materials with different qualities and identities to reconstruct them into narrative languages and soundscapes.His journey in the audiovisual industry began in 2016, being involved in various roles such as video editor, camera assistant, and gaffer, eventually evolving into videography. In 2018, he transitioned into advertising, joining a boutique agency in Buenos Aires where he contributed to crafting video content for different companies, participating in campaigns, editing commercials, and producing social media content.In 2020, Carlos embarked on a new European adventure, specifically within the cannabis industry. This journey led him through Malta, Croatia, Spain, and France, where he got immersed in capturing the essence of cannabis expos, conducting interviews, and producing diverse content including short films, podcasts, and webinars for various brands.Carlos has proudly documented over 20 interviews with cannabis influencers across Europe, Latin America, and the USA, showing their passion for the plant and their roles as activists within the community. He remains an enthusiast of sample music and enjoys capturing street photography with his analog camera.
