Carlos works with a focus on business structuring, complex negotiations, review and drafting of commercial contracts, compliance matters, and also has a strong IP background (both in the protection and enforcement of IP rights not only in Brazil, but in other countries).In the Contracts/ Corporate Law field, Carlos have helped a number of companies in complex transactions, in the setting up of new entities, implementing effective tax strategies, mergers and acquisitions, designing and running compliance programs, implementing CLM tools, etc.He has a solid experience in helping clients in the pharmaceutical/ life sciences market, as well in the automotive industry, food and beverage, retail and TMT.During the last years, Carlos has been dedicated to the Privacy/ Data Protection field.Particularly in the data protection field, Carlos has a solid track record of helping clients to navigate the intricate regulatory environment, implement and manage data protection programs, act as an external DPO, handle data breaches, and build privacy culture.Participates in important associations such as the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), ABPI, LES-Brasil and OAB-SP.In recognition of his work, he was cited in Análise Advocacia 500 (the most reputed Brazilian legal ranking) as the most admired lawyer from 2016 to 2022, as well as in Leaders League (2021 and 2022) and Chambers & Partners (2022).He is former Vice-Chair of the Privacy, Security and Digital Righs Committee of the ABA (Section of International Law) and is former Chair of the IAPP (KnowledgeNet Chapter Program) for São Paulo/ Brazil.He has lectured several times in Brazil and abroad on topics related to International Contracts, IP and Privacy.
