• Responsible for development of manual transmissions for light vehicles (like pick-ups, vans, minibuses and light commercial trucks); • Coordinate a team of engineers and designers in order to ensure the compliance of development schedules, customer requirements, quality and design guidelines as well as the program budgets;• Led multi-functional team (including sales, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, test lab and field service) regarding DFMEA, concurrent engineering, failure analysis, design review, cost reduction and 8D activities.

• Developed robust and cost-effective synchronizer’s system for manual transmissions;• Experienced in analysis of synchronizers feasibility according to vehicle application and customer requirements;• Performed objective and subjective vehicle shift quality assessment;• Handled failure analysis techniques like DoE, Shainin methodology, Ishikawa and 8D on several issues over the past years;• Active member of VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) and cost reduction initiatives.

• Performed design and calculation of synchronizers for GM GMI-700 program for both 5 and 6 speed transmissions;• Developed the first design guidelines for synchronizer’s system with more than 250 recommendations and design parameters to be followed in order to have a flawless transmission launch;• Improved the synchronizer’s calculation tool allowing the study of individual gearshifts, drag torque effects, skip shifts and many other design parameters;• Worked on a product redesign and parts standardization that was able to bring a saving of $350k/year and an investment saving of $130k (regarding tooling);• Implemented a stack-up tool able to search for components and specific dimensions across a wide range of calculations. This tool helped to speed up the deviation analysis process as well as to identify potential CTQ (Critical to Quality) characteristics;• Performed improvements in test rigs, design tools, testing procedures and synchronizer’s validation methodology;• Coordinated benchmarking assessments.
