Reporting to the CEO of Knorr Bremse Commercial Vehicles Division and Chairman of the Executive Board of Knorr Bremse AG, Carlos is directly responsible at Bendix Commercial Vehicles for Sourcing, Supply Chain, Product Quality and Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence, the Bendix Spicer Foundation Brakes JV, the plants in Huntington, IN, Bowling Green, KY, Acuna, Mexico, North Aurora, IL, Sheppard Steering Gears in Hanover, PA and Remanufacturing. Co-responsible for Business Development, M&A, Finance, HR, Legal, Sales and Marketing, Advanced Engineering and R&D, Product Business Teams for Electronics, Valves, Compressors and Air Dryers, Engine Dampers, Foundation and Air Disc Brakes. Overseeing 4,200 employees and full P&L responsible for over $1B revenue. In addition, responsible for the KB Global Purchasing organization. Member of HDMA - Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association and MERA - Motor Equipment Remanufacturing Association. During 2014 and 2015 also responsible for the KB India Plant.

Reporting to the President and CEO led Volvo Powertrain Corporation Operations worldwide with plants in Hagerstown - United States, Curitiba - Brazil, Lyon - France, Skovde and Koping -Sweden, Leganes -Spain, Ageo, Konosu, Hanyu- Japan; Oversaw 7,500 employees worldwide ( 1100 white collar,14 direct reports ) with an operating budget of $2 Billion and sales of $5 Billion; manufactured engines, transmissions and components to Volvo, Mack, UD Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Penta and Volvo Construction Equipment.• Introduced Lean Strategy, Journey to Operational Excellence towards World Class, which has its backbone in the Volvo Production System (VPS). Results included 100% employees participation with over 10 quick and standard kaizen implemented per employee annually, 60% reduction in customer claims, 70% improvement in lost time accidents and 80% on gravity rate, 30% inventory reduction, 25% cost improvement, decreased logistics costs by 35% and increased productivity by 20% in 2010/2011.• Reached successfully production records of 220,000 heavy duty engines and 132,000 heavy duty transmissions in 2011, an increase of 45% over 2010, through productivity, capital investments, expansion and sourcing. • Led the construction of a $200 Million Volvo’s JV plant with Eicher Motors in Pithampur, India. Member of the India JV Board. Plant dedicated to Medium Duty Engines, with a high level of automation and capacity of 100,000 engines annually opening in 2012, including machining of blocks and heads, complete assembly, test and paint. It will employ 500 people. Below budget and on schedule.• Established and implemented the ‘Truly Global’ concept in VPT, and Discovery, a leadership development program.

Reported to President and CEO of Volvo Group Powertrain. Directed North America Division in all aspects of the business with full P&L responsibility for Product Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, Project Management, Key Accounts and Customer Satisfaction. A UAW plant with a total of 1800 employees, including 550 white collar and 10 direct reports. Developed/manufactured engines, transmissions and components with annual capacity of 60,000 engines/transmissions and 45,000 crankshafts/camshafts. Total revenue of $2 Billlion.• Drove turnaround of $320 M between 2007-2009, through capital investments and sourcing; Restructured leadership team, instilled process rigor and discipline. Increased productivity more than 200%, reduced customer claims by 70%, warranty costs by 80% and improved safety by 80%.Tripled capacity. • Developed and implemented EPA 2010 engines as the most successful Volvo engine, by introducing strong focus on reliability. Led Volvo and Mack Trucks to increased market shares and reached # 1 engine manufacturer status in the United States.• Implemented the Operational Development Program (OD) since 2007, involving all 1,800 site employees. Participative program aimed for improvements to all aspects of the business; Delivered savings of $10-20 M annually. Recognized success and paved the way to implementation in all worldwide Volvo Powertrain plants and is part of the Lean Program Volvo Production System VPS.• Spearheaded facility’s Lean Program = VPS that captured savings of $20 M annually.

Managed Purchasing and Supply Management organization with a total of 450 people, 12 direct reports, in 14 locations in 10 countries: Sweden, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, China, South Korea, Brazil, USA, and Canada. A total purchasing value of EURO 3 Billion. Managed a total of 2,000 suppliers serving 5 different product lines: excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, motograders, backhoe loaders, asphalt and paving machines. Reported to the SVP of Technology.• Developed and implemented a Global Sourcing Process and a global comprehensive training program – Everest - aiming integration and competence development of buyers and supplier quality personnel. • Supported integration of acquired Ingersoll Rand division, in Shippensburg, PA from May to July 2007.

Reporting to the SVP Purchasing, managed 14 direct reports and a total of 150 people, 1,800 suppliers for Mack and Volvo Trucks in North America with a purchasing value of $1,5 Billion. • Led the Volvo Truck Corporation Purchasing Team globally in the acquisition and integration of Mack and Renault Trucks into the Volvo Group and creation of the Volvo 3P Purchasing organization in 2000. • Reduced the supplier base by 50% and delivered synergy savings of $200 Million from 2001 to 2003.

• Participated in the Volvo Bus Corporation integration team to consolidate acquisitions in North America of MASA in Mexico, Nova Bus in New Mexico and Canada and Prevost in Canada, as well as with Bluebird in Georgia, USA. Delivered synergy savings of $50 Million in 2000 and 2001.
