Mentor: Dr. Morgan Huse• Selected out of hundreds of applicants to conduct biomedical research at Weill Cornell Medicine under the ACCESS undergraduate research program.• Built upon the previous summer project and characterized the importance of WDR1, a protein hypothesized to play a major role in actin severing at the immunological synapse for efficient CTL effector function.• Performed transfection and transduction techniques on cell lines derived from two specific mice models in which the T lymphocytes were derived and introduced to target cells.• Performed cell culture, cloning, TIRF microscopy, and PCR to achieve the project goal.• Collaborated with graduate mentor and PI to execute the project goals.

Mentor: Dr. Mary Baylies• Received a TIMS summer scholars research fellowship for funding this work during the summer.• Characterized mechanisms driving muscle disease, specifically rhabdomyosarcoma, and identification ofnovel therapies.• Performed proliferation assays using an in vivo rhabdomyosarcoma drosophila line.• Executed project by performing cell on rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines.• Executed drug screens using rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines.• Collaborated with peers to plan and execute experiments.
