Currently, I am a PostDoctoral Researcher at ITQB NOVA, developing my work at Prof. Cristina Silva Pereira's laboratory. My research focuses on the study of host-pathogen interactions, specifically on the impact of the degradation of plant defensive barriers by pathogens in the activation of the host immune system. Additionally, I also work on the extraction and physicochemical characterisation of plant polyesters (cutin and suberin) from agro-industrial residues, to study the biological function of their composing molecules, aiming the development of novel bio-based technologies.

I was one of the founders and coordinator of and educational project within the scope of Mathematics (MatRadical). I organized a set of activities for the students of this institution; and established partnerships within the scope of the project. I also promoted teamwork with my colleague teachers. The work developed obtained recognition by the entire school community.
