I decided to start working as a contractor. After Nlyte Software (www.nlyte.com) acquired InControl Inc., I was invited to help them integrating InControl’s family of products with Nlyte’s. This was a 100% remote position, working and helping Nlyte in several areas:1- CI/Build cycle: Integrating InControl Product’s build system and technologies into Nlyte’s CI/TEST development lifecycle. Integrating Docker containers to build apps for different environments.2- Creating/maintaining/adding new software applications to Nlyte’s family of products (mainly infrastructure scanning services and apps), on both Windows and Linux environments. 3- Developing software and processes to deal with product upgrades. My work here was to lead the technical tasks needed to evolve an application that was called CLIP. CLIP main goal was to assist civil engineers in the design of lineal infrastructures, like roads and railways. It was developed in native C++ and MFC's. The applications internal design was a mess, the evolution was a real pain, so I finally proposed the development of a second version of the tool. The second version of the tool was designed and developed using .NET 1.1 with some modules in C++ inherited from the previous version.
