In this role I serve as creative overseer on an audio project, be it a song, a podcast, a music video, etc. I may serve as the decision maker only and sub out the work, or I may perform and dig into the software and play the instruments my self, but as a producer my end goal is the final track and the overall impact of the song. I am now producing my own tracks to be out very soon, and working with other artists and a pod-casters who all want to sound great. Poor audio quality sends an unspoken message of incompleteness. Even though an amateur listener may not understand why they perceive one audio signal to be more impressive than the other, we all can tell the difference between well produced, balanced, potent audio and unpleasant audio that gets its unpleasantness from any number of sources (noise, distortion, poor audio capture, over compression, lack of balance, etc.). In this role, I represent my truest self as best as I possibly can and play my heart out. My aim is to perform from the deepest inward recesses of my being and captivate the audience by shear sympathetic response to my authenticity. In this role, I create lyrics and instrumentation that helps to tell an overall story. I have written for myself and other musicians. I have also crafted songs for weddings and other special occasions. My specialty is in arrangement and creating catchy song elements (melodies, rhythmic phrases, etc.). One thing that makes my style unique is my sampling technique, re-pitching, stretching, warping, and using unexpected and out of place sounds to create an overall aesthetic and sonic stage when creating music in a digital workspace.
