Worked with a team to primarily integrate with third-party service providers to provide documents and check images to the end user using Scala with the Typelevel stack (cats/doobie/http4s). Provided third-tier off-hours support on a rotating basis with the rest of the team.

VorroHealth is a small software company consisting of 3-8 developers over my time there. As such, my job requirements include every aspect of the development cycle. I have worked with customers to identify and fix errors or areas of need. I have created new features in our primary product (BridgeGate) from requirements to deployment. I have embraced new technologies in Scala and AngularJS to build BridgeGate Connect. I have even been conducted pre-sales demonstrations and on-site customer training. In addition, I migrated the BridgeGate build process from a legacy ant-based script to a modern Gradle build system, and have created and maintain our continuous integration (CI) processes using Jenkins.

Provided on-site post-sales consulting solutions to integrate Verity Enterprise Search capabilities in customer environments. This included every stage from requirements gathering to final deployment. Some typical requirements included: * Determine hardware requirements for customer installations based on data sizes* Design data indexing scheme for either batch or streaming indexing methods* Work with subject matter experts to design custom taxonomies for their data* Work with customer's design staff to create a custom interface to their search data* Conduct testing to ensure that the deployment meets all customer criteriaCreated a tool for indexing data in near real time out of various relational databases (DBIndex). This allowed customer applications to be much more responsive, while allowing Verity Professional Services to focus on other issues.

INRI was a mid-size company of about 400 people when I joined out of college, providing Command and Control software (the Joint Maritime Command Information System - JMCIS) to the US Navy. During my time there, INRI became a core developer of the Global Command and Control System (GCCS) Common Operating Environment (COE). I specifically worked primarily on the JMCIS/GCCS Segment Installer. The Installer was a Motif/X application written in C for software installation into the system. I also worked on a Windows-based version of some of our GCCS segments (C2PC) that would allow a similar experience for users on significantly cheaper hardware. I also worked for 18 months as a Site Support Engineer at Joint Inter-Agency Task Force - East (JIATF-East) supporting JMCIS/GCCS in an active counter-narcotics command. This experience directly with the customer gave me great insights into the use of the software and encouraged me to constantly seek customer input for any system on which I am working.
