As the Company Sergeant Major (CSM) of the Personal Recovery Centre at Tedworth House, My responsibilities lye along the lines of the day to day running of all things discipline and coordination between the Military and Help for Heroes but with combining a sense of compassion towards the Wounded, Injured and Sick forces personnel that come to the centre for recovery. Tedworth House is just one centre in the network of Personnel Recovery Centres (PRC) that form part of the Defence Recovery Capability, a Tri-Service MOD led initiative in partnership with The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes, and involving other Service charities and agencies. These centres deliver, within a military environment, co-ordinated support to recovering personnel from across the Armed Forces to help them to either return to duty or make a smooth transistion into an appropriately skilled civilian life.Set in the heart of Tidworth Garrison, Wiltshire, one of the Army's largest Garrison towns, Tedworth House provides comprehensive support to wounded, injured and sick personnel and their families. Renovation work at Tedworth House was completed in 2012 and now fully open, the centre can provide comprehensive support and residential accommodation for up to 50 wounded, injured and sick personnel from all three Services in the south of England.In addition, Tedworth House facilities is open to veterans on a needs basis and provides a Support Hub, a collection of welfare agencies and other Service charities giving a 'one stop shop' of advice and support for serving personnel, veterans and their families - for life.

WO2 TDS (Temporary Deployed Staff) Safety Supervisor for large Battle group exercises conducted on the Canadian Prairie otherwise known as BATUS. Also responsible for the admin of the 34 Group within the Infantry 3 GroupBATUS is equipped with in excess of 1000 vehicles including a full complement of Challenger 2 tanks and Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Each year a Regiment is sent there for six months to take the part of the 'enemy' for the other Regiments that are there to train each year.The training area at BATUS is equivalent in size to the combined area all of the main training areas used by British Army in the UK and in Europe; Salisbury Plain Training Area would fit in 7 times over. 5 Battlegroups, each containing approx 1400 soldiers, are trained at BATUS each year. These MEDICINE MAN now Prairie Storm exercises, which can be up to 30 days in duration, are split into two phases; Live Fire and Tactical Effects Simulation (TESEX), the later with a live enemy. The TESEX system identifies when vehicles have been fired at and damaged / destroyed and also informs soldiers when they are being fired at and if hit what injuries they have sustained.The duration of the exercises, and size of the training area, allow all elements of a combined arms battle group (Infantry, Armour, Artillery, Engineers, Air Defence, Logistics and Equipment Support) to conduct realistic live firing training at all levels and to practice sustaining this activity over a long period of time.
