My life has undoubtedly taken a winding path; My interest in a wide variety of topics has led me through many experiences that have captivated my interest, certainly. However, it had never guided me to anything I felt I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. This ongoing search has led me to discover coding. In coding, I've found a found an occupation that rewards traits I never realized I was building. From my time spent working on cars in my garage, I further developed my natural curiosity. Here, I found my desire to fully understand the inner workings of complex systems that I interact with, never content with only a surface level of understanding. From my time spent as an arborist, I gained an immense adaptability to rapidly changing conditions. I found an ability to see through chaos and filter out unnecessary information, focusing on what is important. I found an ability to thrive at solving problems that present multiple approaches and encourage a case by case approach. Upon realizing that coding may well be the culmination of my experiences to this point in time, I sought out Epicodus to teach me the skills to turn this newfound passion into a career. I am currently enrolled in their Full Stack program, and will have learned HTLM, CSS, Javascript, C# and React before graduating. On a personal level, I enjoy a variety of activities including rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing. I find that the traits these activities foster, including determination and an ability to treat failure as a learning experience, have allowed me to bring a better version of myself to my daily life.
