About Carlton Irving

I hail from beautiful Ōpōtiki. Despite facing challenges in high school, I was fortunate to embark on a career in paramedicine, starting as an assistant and eventually becoming a critical care paramedic with the rescue helicopter service. My passion for healthcare continued to grow, leading me to pursue further training as a medical doctor.I am driven by a deep commitment to creating opportunities for others to enter health professions, improving access to healthcare for high-need communities, and striving for equitable outcomes within our health system. I believe in living a purposeful life dedicated to the service of others.Throughout my career, I have been privileged to hold some influential leadership positions, in these I focused on initiatives and projects to improve health equity. I hope that these efforts, along with the development of future leaders, will leave a lasting impact on our healthcare landscape. I am always keen to connect with and support like-minded individuals who share my passion for health equity.
