Responsible for the development and implementation of Powerco’s Risk and Assurance Methodology including: • Facilitation of the risk management framework including the transition of the process from one perceived solely for Board purposes to a tool to deliver Powerco’s Strategic and Operational Objectives across all business units;• Development and implementation of Powerco’s new Legal and Regulatory Compliance System and underlying validation process to provide the Executive and Board with assurance that procedures are in place to meet key Legal, Regulatory and Contractual Obligations;• Transition of the static one year Internal Audit Plan to a rolling Business Assurance Programme driven by an Assurance Map and linked to Powerco’s Six Strategic Objectives;• Establishment of the current Risk and Assurance function using a blend of in-house resource and external specialists including a change to the main co-sourced service provider to protect and add value to Powerco’s operations; • Key project member developing and implementing Powerco’s Safety Management System for Public Safety to meet the requirements of NZS7901; and• Independent reporting to Powerco’s Audit and Risk Committee and other assurance providers to drive efficiency and avoid audit fatigue.

Senior Manager within the Auckland ERS practice and competency lead for the UK Manufacturing Industry Group driving the delivery of internal audit and risk services to primarily corporate sector clients, including: • Delivery of the risk based internal audit programme to Vector Limited, Mighty River Power, Livestock Improvement Corporation, Pfizer, Orica, and Goodman Fielder;• Outsourced Head of Internal Audit for British Vita Group S.ar.l, a €1.5bn global manufacturing group that was taken private by Texas Pacific in 2005, implementing an assurance framework that contributed to the implementation of strategic initiatives by the new management team to protect and build value;• Transition of the Croda International Plc internal audit approach from basic compliance to an integrated risk and value driven assurance programme across its worldwide footprint;• Risk and assurance lead for three months on an SEC mandated investigation and improvement project for a €75bn multinational; • Establishment of the outsourced internal audit function at Ashtead Group Plc to initially baseline the control environment following accounting irregularities and then to build value across the Group;• Delivery of readiness projects under the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley 404 for Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Avecia (ex ICI) Limited and Arthrocare including detailed business process reviews and key lessons learnt from the outcomes of assessments to enhance business procedures; and• Strategic benchmarking of operational internal audit functions at Ashtead Group and Stagecoach to ensure methodologies provide assurance and value enhancement.
