As a part of the campus coalition team, I will be doing outreach to college campuses across the United States to help them prepare for Earth Day 2025, and provide them opportunities to highlight their sustainability efforts on campus.

At the Florida DEP, I worked alongside professional geologists in the Florida Geological Survey. I assisted in organizing and digitizing state records and received hands-on learning experience around the unique geology of Florida while funded by three different grants. The first project I was on included processing geologic samples (solid core and cuttings) from particularly valuable drilling operations. I assisted in organizing and digitizing state records and received hands-on learning experience around the unique geology of Florida while funded by three different grants. The first project I was on included processing geologic samples (solid core and cuttings) from particularly valuable drilling operations. This project benefits the geologists and students who may describe and examine the geology in areas that are particularly deep or where little data currently exists. During the rest of my time, I became familiar with and utilized ArcGIS to cross-reference and verify the locations of drilling operations from multiple sources across the state. The last project I worked on required me to use the program Neuralog to digitize geophysical logs to allow for easy viewing and graphing for statistical analysis. Show less

I was the first to hold this title at FSU's Office of Sustainability (Sustainable Campus) and was tasked with managing our existing football game recycling program and given broad creative liberty to find ways to practice waste reduction on campus. As Waste Reduction Coordinator, I worked closely with the Director of Sustainability and FSU athletics to improve our recycling plan. I also founded a student group called the Garnet and Gold Goes Green Ambassadors. I served as a fellow for the Leon County Office of Resource Stewardship as a partnership with FSU's . My supervisor had requested a fellow to help strategize a more efficient method for cataloging and redistributing unwanted office furniture among a network of county government offices. To do this, I called and took notes on all other county offices in Florida to ask if they had a similar program for surplus furniture and what worked for them. I worked with health professionals to plan a forum event on the issue of teen mental health. I was in charge of interviewing, selecting, and editing speeches from fellow high school students, using Canva to create promotional materials, and giving input on the food, venue, decor, and handouts for the day of the event. I had a wonderful experience seeing the passion project become a reality. In the end we hosted over 150 people and 30 mental health "vendors" at first annual event.
