About Carly R.

I am Sr. Site Reliability Engineer at Pearson where I work to create highly available, scalable, and reliable architecture. I have experience with many AWS services, such as lambda, CDK, Cloudformation, S3, API Gateway, EC2, ECR, ECS, and dynamodb. I am comfortable writing scripts in languages included, but not limited to, python, typescript, and javascript. I also have front-end experience in frameworks such as ReactJS and Flask. At my current job, I am an active member of Women in Tech ERG and participate in community engagement and outreach.In May 2020, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with double majors in Environmental Science (Quantitative Energy Systems Track) and Computer Science and a minor in Marine Science. I am passionate about inspiring women in tech and worked with Girls Who Code at UNC during my junior and senior year of college. During my undergrad I worked in a marine sedimentology research lab and focused on building inexpensive waterproof sensors and writing data analysis scripts in Python and MATLAB.
