👋Hello! I'm Carly (she/her). I'm a public health and social policy enthusiast, working as a Senior Policy Analyst at the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Social Policy from the University of Victoria (UVic), where my master's research focused on the unintended consequences of the COVID-19 response on early childhood (ages 0-6) health across the province of BC from a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) perspective. I also hold a Bachelor of Science from UBC Okanagan.I'm a recently published children's book author. I wrote "Charlie's Colourful Plate", a public health pediatric nutrition book on picky eating based on my experience as a very fussy eater (sorry mom and dad!) and the lack of empathetic, evidence-based information we had available to us at the time. I'm an avid volunteer in my community and am always excited by projects that work to collaboratively address gaps to better support the needs of diverse populations. In the future, I hope to combine my love for upstream interventions with studies in medicine, particularly in the field of maternal and early childhood health.
