About Carly Murray

Yes, yes, I know I should be talking about myself here rather than the company I work for but I love The Surgery ❤️. OK then, a couple of titbits about me first.I fancy myself as an 80s popstar 🎤, but unfortunately, I can’t sing for toffee. Even in the shower. Thankfully, I sound much better when talking about all things internal communications (IC) related. That's what I did for many years, delivering IC in the corporate world in various industries such as telecoms, utilities and aviation. My experience of working in fast-moving and complex businesses helps me understand the challenges you're facing. I love nothing more than to help you cut through the sh*t! 💩 (Who knew I'd get to use a poo emoji on LinkedIN!) And to help you see the wood for the trees. 🌳 Now back to The Surgery - they were the very first creative agency I used at the beginning of my career. We clicked so I took them wherever my career took me. 😍 PC, one of the founders of The Surgery happened to take me out to lunch at a time when I wasn't enjoying where I was working. I said 'you've got to get me out of here PC' and he said 'hold that thought.' 🤔That lunch led to me setting up the IC side of the Surgery along with Sarah Meurer, a trailblazer in the industry. And that led to us winning Best Medium Agency at the 2023 Institute of Internal Communications Awards. At the Surgery we want to see a world where boring is banned! Can you imagine that? A world where we don’t have to settle for stale and stodgy, where the tedious is taboo and boredom is soooo last year. No one deserves the dreary after all!So, we’re on a mission to boot boring out the barn door through killer IC campaigns, exciting employer brands, daring design and sparkling digital innovation.Check out our work 🧐 at ineedsurgery.comI'm up for a coffee ☕️ and a chit-chat any time, so feel free to drop me a line - carly@ineedsurgery.com
