Having initially trained in Horticulture and then Psychotherapy I was keen to blend the two disciplines, which has resulted in training to become a Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) practitioner, or sometimes otherwise known as a Horticultural Therapist. STH is an emerging profession which facilitates through the use of horticulture the promotion of health, wellbeing and social inclusion. I have completed an STH Award scheme accredited by the charity Thrive and Coventry University, passing with a First Class.Using my qualifications and volunteering experiences, most notably with the charities, HomeStart UK and Thornage Hall, a Camphill led community in Norfolk, I now enable and support people living with mental ill health using STH and nature immersive programmes.
