Diavik Diamond Mine

Mine and construction surveying to build a new open pit diamond mine and maintain the tailings and waste rock pile structures. • Created pipeline alignment for dewatering of the A21 dike, and monitored water outtake • Surveyed and staked out multiple large scale earthworks projects such as the A21 dike and the processed kimberlite containment dam• Interpreted engineering drawings and translated them to the field while effectively communicating the plans to the construction team on site• Collected and organized survey data to later process using Civil 3D or Maptek Vulcan • Used multiple methods of surveying to obtain appropriate data accuracy • Prepared daily quality control reports for the mine tailings pond and rock pile reslope, which includes construction updates, foundation conditions, placement/compaction methods and site photos to accurately relay progress and issues
