I am proud to have helped showcase the inspiring and unique strengths the University of Manitoba has to share with the world. With an eye on quality and another on the delivery date, the coordination of projects from start to finish was key to keeping the production office running efficiently. Completing timelines means forecasting production, resourcing projects effectively, and recommending solutions to ensure partners were satisfied.

As Communications and Media Marketing Coordinator I had the privilege of sharing all the amazing things Manitoba has to offer! I provided support to the entire Marketing & Communications division in its activities and various projects dealing with consumers, media, and partners. I worked collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely execution of marketing and communications projects.

A production plant that runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week means you have to be on top of your projects non stop. Advocating for my clients at all times of the day (even the middle of the night!) was key to providing exceptional client care. Add on the need for strong print production knowledge and the constant need to be organized, all to ensure everything makes it out the door on time.

Deadlines? Multiple projects running in every different direction possible? Rushes? Absolutely! But I would not have had it any other way. With the insanity came outstanding colleagues to pull together and make it all happen. Everything is better with a cup of tea to cut through the toughest situations at work.

Making a difference in our city. Between scouting potential litter clean up locations, picking up 10s of thousands of plastics bags from Manitoba schools, painting a home and posting beautiful gardens on Facebook I was always thrilled to be part of making the city of Winnipeg a better place. Being part of a small team means pitching in where ever and when ever needed.Take Pride Winnipeg! is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire community pride, raise public awareness and promote citizen responsibly in making the city of Winnipeg clean and beautiful.

Working in an Atlantic National Park with the ocean just down the road was the best way to spend a summer. I created new materials to foster public understanding and appreciation for nationally significant ecosystems. The opportunity to present the history of Canada in a bilingual park to visitors from Canada and around the world makes me very proud to have worked as a Communication Assistant in tourism.

Having visited Riding Mountain most of my life, the chance to spend summers working on the Riding Mountain National Park Ambassador Program building relationships between stakeholders, local residents and business owners meant expanding my understanding of marketing and tourism at one of the most pristine locations in the country. During my summer positions over the span of 3 summers, the Park celebrated its 75th Anniversary. Welcoming new students to the University of Winnipeg residents through events, tours and cooking lesson, a R.A. is a true peer helper. Often working to resolve conflict amongst house mates, I learnt to be encouraging to others and grew my interpersonal skills. My role also included various administrative functions and requires from University administration such as reports and weekly status meetings. GO WESMEN GO!
