CPI Promotions is a fast paced environment providing retail, commercial, and promotional products to businesses worldwide. I managed art for multiple accounts and executed creative projects with new challenges every day. In addition to that, my duties also included mock-ups, photography, photo editing and color correcting. I was also responsible for setting up files for in-house production, including wide-format digital printing, die-cutting and laser engraving and worked closely with the Production Manager to streamline work flow and printing schedule. I also interviewed, hired, and directed our student intern. I have always enjoyed teaching so it was a privilege to educate them about design and be a part of their growth as a designer.

I’ve always processed an entrepreneurial quality and in a way, I’ve been “freelancing” since I was a young girl. Currently my freelance design includes working on a variety of projects in print and web. Some clients include Bluemound Graphics, TrioAlarm, ABB, Derzon Menard, and more. My duties included putting together promotions for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Athletics. I worked on a variety of projects beginning with season ticket brochures. A large part of my job was designing the game day poster programs. I created a series of posters for 5 of our UWSP teams, and each series included 4 posters for their season. I also designed smaller projects such as booklet covers, sports passes, and more.

I was the coordinator for the University Centers marketing and digital promotions. I was responsible for the development, design, and production of various print promotions. I had a wide range of duties, which spanned from updating documents to designing a 10-page newsletter.I also would create, edit, and maintain the content on the University Centers SharePoint website. Sharepoint was a new system to the Centers and I took part in transferring files from the old website to the new one. With my web experience, I was also a resource for staff when they needed help.I also maintained and updated the PointTV system, which is a closed circuit, communication system on campus that uses monitors to broadcast events and information. I designed the layout as well as organized content and worked with other designers within the Centers to broadcast events from multiple departments within the University Centers.

I was responsible for designing a variety of promotions for university events and the Brewhaus on campus. A large part of my job was developing the branding for the Performing Arts Series, which began with a brochure and then translated into web ads, posters, and more. I also designed the annual Welcome Back Publication, a 1-color newspaper featuring articles and a calendar of events to welcome back students to the new school year.

WP&T is a marketing firm where I interned in 2009. They were so pleased with my performance that I was then hired over the summer and winter breaks as a graphic designer. I collaborated with the in-house designer and worked with the account managers on a wide range of marketing projects. Through WP&T, I designed my first published magazine advertisement and coded my first website. These are some design milestones I’m sure I’ll never forget as I continue to grow.

I worked here through high school and continued when I returned home from college on weekends or college breaks. At Swim America, I was a swim instructor for children ages 3-16, teaching lessons from blowing bubbles to the butterfly. I was also responsible for assisting my supervisor with various tasks such as paper work and customer service. While this job was not design related, it played a significant part in developing my good work ethic and love for teaching and children.

As a Design Center intern, I was involved in team collaborations and group projects as well as personally responsible for a variety of individual projects. I created the promotional campaign for our regional graphic design exhibition called Graphic Exposure, which included invitations, brochures, banners and more. I designed the Museum of Natural History’s identity, a creative challenge to embody everything that the museum represents.
