I am an experienced teacher with a passion for educating girls. Each day I focus on empowering young women through a growth mindset. My aim is for each of my students to believe that they can achieve in Mathematics and that we learn far more from making mistakes than from quick success in solutions. I encourage my students to see what I see - a world full of mathematics.My lessons are full of creative activities that engage learners with a strong emphasis on technology; whether that be completing activities in GeoGebra, Desmos, Padlet, Grok coding, Canvas, or OneNote. Or using their mathematical skills to design and create solutions to a problem.My passion revolves around everything STEM. Providing authentic learning experiences for students, girls in particular, to use their creativity to explore how Mathematics, Science, and Engineering can be applied through technology to solve problems. I love encouraging my students to think that there is no problem that can't be solved. My Master's research investigated using computer coding to develop problem-solving skills in Mathematics.I love working with like-minded colleagues in team environments who also are constantly looking for better, more engaging ways to capture our learners.I am a passionate photographer always looking to better my craft and apply those skills in my classroom. I am a recipient of the NSW Premier’s KPMG Information and Communication Technologies Scholarship for teachers where my research explored using Digital Storytelling to enhance learning in the Mathematics classroom.I am a member of the University of Sydney STEM Academy.My formal training is in Secondary Education of Mathematics, Science and Computing Science, I have a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Mathematics) and a Master's of Education; Computers in Education. I have experience teaching Mathematics (year 7-12, all levels up to Extension 1 HSC), Science (years 7-10), Computing skills (Kindergarten - year 6), Computing Studies (IST years 9-10, SDD and IPT years 11-12) and Technology (years 7-8). I have experience as an HSC marker in Standard Mathematics and Computing Studies.I have experience as Head of Department - Computing Coordinator (Kindergarten - year 6) and Acting Head of TAS. I am a basketball tragic. A loyal supporter of the Australian Opals, the Australian Boomers, the Sydney Flames, The Sydney Kings, NBL1, 3x3; I love nothing more than traveling the world to watch them play.
