As CEO, I led a wonderful team of over 60 dedicated professionals across nursing, fundraising and communications, finance, retail and governance, reporting to a committed, compassionate board of directors. Before being appointed CEO, I’d worked with Jack & Jill as Communications Director from 2008 - through my own company Gemini Consulting. During my tenure, the charity grew significantly, increasing the home nursing care hours it funded and delivered to an all time high, winning several good governance and marketing awards along the way.

Set up my own PR training company Gemini Consulting Limited to work with a small group of clients including the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, Fitzwilliam Institute, Marine Institute, DIT, Hudson Recruitment and Early Childhood Ireland. Dec 06 – July 2017 : PRO for Early Childhood Ireland (ECI)Reported to CEO in developing and implementing annual PR/media plan. This involved showcasing the best of early childhood care and education through innovation and learning stories; making the case for increased funding for childcare; positioning ECI as leading membership organisation for 3,500 creche and preschool members employing over 24,000 childcare workers; proactive PR around conferences, seminars, digital platforms, ongoing research and surveys. Other key Gemini projects - (2002 / 2008) Lecturer with Fitzwilliam Institute delivering day and evening courses in PR in Smurfit Business School and National College of Ireland.(2004) Bank of Scotland inhouse PR strategist role pre-launch of retail bank.(2005 / 2007) Marine Institute launch Oranmore HQ / Sea Change strategy / media training & newsroom.(2007 / ongoing) Supporting DIT Student Societies on campaigns and events such as annual fashion show and media training.(Ongoing) media and training contracts with Andec Communications, Edelman, True Blue, Regan Lowey.

Elected onto the Council in December 1997 and served for 6 years, as Vice President for 2 years and President for 2 years. Role involved researching, developing and implementing 5-year plan for members, including recruitment of first CEO of PRII. Awarded fellowship of PRII in 2007.

Led a 16 strong team in Dublin, writing and delivering a business plan that achieved 3-fold increase in turnover over 3 years. Remained part of PR team for Microsoft, Nortel and Xerox. Promoted internally to international role in May 2000, developing internal communications & training programme while consulting on UK clients Dell and Deutsche Bank.

Headhunted to experienced team of consultants, working on local / global company Manufacturers’ Services Ltd. in Athlone pre-flotation and Standard Life amongst others.

Worked in corporate division as Account Director managing team of 3, delivering strategic PR for large, complex organisations such as Andersen Consulting (Accenture), ICL, Reuters and AIB.

As part of my around the world trip with two friends via London-Boston-San Francisco-Hawaii -Auckland- I was very fortunate to land and work in the Sydney Opera House Events Department for 8 months - before a 2 month trip around Australia and returning home via Singapore ⭐️

Trained inhouse as account executive while studying marketing at night and worked on Irish Permanent, RTE, Ernst & Young and Coco-Cola Atlantic accounts. Great start in PR.

Started career (aged 17 going on 18) as secretary in research department and was trained inhouse as researcher and analyst. This strong grounding in research, investor relations and report writing, coupled with my marketing studies (night classes x 5 years) was a great springboard into corporate PR.
