The modern library with its diversity of resources and learning tools is a hub for new ideas, cultural exchange and information sharing.Undertaking complex academic research or finding a new children’s book can be challenging, as the library has evolved from just books on shelves. Hard cover publications, e books, audio files and more form the gateway to learning or simply losing yourself in another world. The modern library has also evolved into a centre for cultural exchange and community engagement with events and programs that bring people together from diverse backgrounds. It’s these experiences that drive my passion for managing a modern library and information centre. Helping customers find that special story or key piece of information gives me great job satisfaction, together with leading a team of like-minded professionals who share the passion for learning through the information hub that forms the modern library.As a Senior Librarian and manager with formal qualifications in Arts, Librarianship and Information Science, together with recognition for service and work performance, I am driven to engage and partner with colleagues across the library services sector to deliver successful library business outcomes.
