Elected to position 2 in November 2021 as the first openly queer person, first Boricua, and youngest Latina to be elected to Renton City Council. She is the second youngest woman to be elected and will be the youngest current serving city council member at the age of 32.

Lead instructor for multiple undergraduate courses in the criminal justice department. I develop, implement, and update curriculum for each course. Currently I teach three courses: Intro to Criminal Justice, Social Control and Deviance, and Juvenile Justice.

Lead event organizer for the HER Social App events in the greater Seattle area. With my team, I lead the planning, marketing, and implementation of queer womxn events, of 300 attendees or more, strengthening the LGBTQ community overall.

Assist clients, 16-24 years of age, their achieve educational and employment goals. I provide job readiness training, coaching, and connect them with subsidized/unsubsidized employment throughout King County.

Oversaw, implemented, and assisted with transition/reentry programs for incarcerated youth. Additionally, lead a team in updating all policies on campus in accordance to American Correction Association (ACA) guidelines. Organized and conducted Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion training for new and current staff members.

I managed a full caseload of multiple youth, developing their individualized treatment plans, and engaging them in daily, as well as weekly counseling sessions. I developed a strong knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, through trainings, supervisions, and daily use. Also, I co-facilitated our Aggression Replacement Training group on a weekly basis with five to six youth. I am exceptional at relating to individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds at my current agency, as well as in my previous professional experiences.

My dissertation surrounded policing discretion and what it means to "do the right thing" (DTRT) in terms of police decision making. I was given access to 8 debriefs from the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and surrounding community. I developed a model of further understanding in DTRT in policing. This is meant to encourage police officers to utilize discretion to follow protocol when it comes to DTRT. As you can imagine, it is very subjective and entirely qualitative. I created my own coding dictionary and coded the debriefs. I familiarized myself with thematic analysis and took a latent approach and constructionist perspective when analyzing the data. I am familiar with organizational trust, naturalistic decision making, and decision avoidance. It was all very interesting and I enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about policing.

Worked with juveniles at the youth detention center under the King County Chaplaincy Program. I listened and spoke with juveniles of diverse backgrounds about an array of topics

I developed my familiarity and knowledge of psychological research. My duties included entering data, using SPSS, and transcribed research interviews.

I assisted in the care of infants from abusive or narcotic-using homes through providing active stimulation to further promote their social and mental development.
