About Carmen Braidwood
With 23 years of experience in commercial radio and TV, I’ve held roles as a presenter, producer, program manager, and newsreader across Australia's major media companies.My 20s were spent honing my craft across regional Australia presenting, producing, and reading the news for breakfast radio shows. It was here that I also had the chance to step into leadership, taking up the role of Program Manager for two regional radio stations. The hard work paid off with 4 ACRA awards for radio presenting and a MACCA for best newsreader. By 30, I was back in Perth, hosting 96fm’s breakfast show from 2011-2017, and later, I was heard on talkback radio station, 6PR hosting Weekend Breakfast, occasionally filling in for Steve Mills & Basil Zempilas on weekdays. Today, I work as a freelance media professional and speaker-trainer, based in Perth. My days vary from fronting a travel story for TV to delivering media and leadership keynotes, or prepping executives to be media-ready.Moving away from full-time radio has given me the opportunity to help others conquer their fears of on-camera presentation, empowering them to show up authentically online and grow their brands.The challenges of 2020, combined with needing time to manage a rare and chronic illness, inspired me to develop an original Confidence on Camera program for startups and small business. What began as an online course has expanded into a suite of corporate speaking and training services focused on media literacy, media futurism, and media performance.My online courses are ideal for those starting with video content or can serve as a value-add for my corporate clients. For those ready to take it further, I offer 1-1 executive coaching and in-studio media training across all modern media platforms.I’m also an experienced MC & facilitator, who knows it’s not about me, it’s about the experience of your delegates and stakeholders. I add value to your attendee experience by setting the right tone, bringing energy and context to speaker line-ups with engaging intros and use my broadcasters curiosity and interview skillset to lead dynamic discussions and QnAs.
